Delivery & Returns
Due to the current COVID-19 situation, our delivery times may be longer than usual. We are currently aiming to deliver all orders within 5-10 days, although we will deliver sooner where possible. We will call you within 24-48 hours of your order being placed to arrange a delivery date.
The majority of items sold by Singletons Nurseries are delivered by our fleet of vehicles within a twenty five mile radius of our base in Lydiate Ash, Bromsgrove.
If you are beyond our usual delivery area, please feel free to enquire as it may be we are going your way with another load and we may be able to accommodate your requirements.
Our delivery fee is just £15 for local deliveries within a 15 mile radius of the Nursery. For deliveries a little further afield, the cost is £25 for deliveries within a 25 mile radius. Mileage is calculated as by the distance via a suitable road. For deliveries further than 25 miles, please contact us for a shipping quote.
If the delivery address is within the Birmingham Clean Air Zone postcodes, an additional charge of £50 will be applied to your order at checkout.
Deliveries are made by way of a 7.5 tonne vehicle or larger, to kerbside (or driveway where access allows – this is at the driver’s discretion), unless otherwise agreed.
The customer must ensure there is enough room for access. If, in the delivery drivers view, there is the possibility that there is no appropriate access, the customer may be liable for a re-delivery charge.
Plants are a perishable, living product. If purchased in-store and you change your mind, we are unable to accept any exchanges or refunds. If the plant deteriorates within 5 days, we must be sent a photo or the plant must be brought back into store to be analysed to see why it has deteriorated. There are several factors such as lack of or over watering, the wrong feed applied, frost or other cold weather or poor soil conditions which are out of our control meaning we are unable to offer an exchange or refund – our knowledgeable horticultural teal will usually be able to tell what has gone wrong. If we cannot see any reason why the plant is in poor health we will be sure to offer you either an exchange or refund. After the 5 day period, we will not be able to accept any returns or refunds on any plants.
Plants are a living product, meaning their appearance can change at different times of the year. For example, some are deciduous and loose their leaves in the winter which is natural. Bedding plants/ annual plants will only last one season then will die – this is also natural. Leaves change colour, perennials, die down to nothing during the winter months – these are all natural and doesn’t mean that the plant is dead or dying.
Turf & Topsoil
Please note that as turf is a fresh, living product cut to requirements, it is non-returnable. Topsoil is also a non-returnable product.
Bulk bags of gravel and aggregates can be returned. We must be made aware within 7 days that you wish to return for a refund or exchange for something different and arrange collection or a new delivery. There will be a collection fee which will be the same cost as your delivery charge, plus 20% of the total order value restocking fee.
Sleepers can be returned. We must be made aware within 7 days that you wish to return for a refund or exchange for something different and arrange collection or a new delivery. There will be a collection fee which will be the same cost as your delivery charge, plus 20% of the total order value restocking fee.
Dry Goods – Gift Shop
If you change your mind on a purchase of dry goods such as a ceramic pot or a gift from our gift shop, then you have 14 days from the date you purchased to return the goods for a full refund or exchange.
If goods are faulty, you have 7 days from date of purchase for an exchange or a full refund.
Refunds will be given by way of the initial purchase. If the initial purchase was made by card, we are only able to refund back onto the same card.
